The Reality of Health Insurance in Yemen and Its Role in Improving the Health Status of the Community

This study aims to explore the current state of health insurance in Yemen and its role in enhancing the health status of the community, as well as its contribution to reducing healthcare costs for beneficiaries the research examines the concept, importance, benefits, and impact of health insurance on public health It also seeks to draw the attention of healthcare stakeholders to the advantages of health insurance and its contribution to the growth of various sectors, particularly the health sector to achieve its goals, the study used a descriptive methodology for the theoretical part and an analytical method for the practical part The study was prompted by the increasing need of Yemeni individuals for health insurance services, especially in light of the rising healthcare costs and the decline in service quality, The research concluded with several findings, the most notable being that health insurance in Yemen has seen a significant decline in recent years due to ongoing events in the country However, it also found that health insurance plays an effective and vital role in improving health levels. Moreover, the study identified a lack of awareness among individuals regarding insurance The study recommended the need for the state to play a stronger role in developing the health insurance sector and to establish a high-level insurance system to achieve comprehensive healthcare coverage and improve the health sector in Yemen.
