هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تقييم مستوى معارف وممارسات الممرضين تجاه الوقاية من عدوى المسالك البولية المصحوبة بالقسطرة البولية (CAUTI) في مستشفى الثورة العام بمدينة صنعاء، اليمن. استخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي المقطعي، واعتمدت على استبانة منظمة لجمع البيانات من الممرضين العاملين بالمستشفى، بهدف تقييم مستوى المعرفة والممارسة، ودراسة العلاقة بين الخصائص الديموغرافية ومستوى المعرفة والممارسات المتعلقة بالوقاية من العدوى.
أظهرت الدراسة أن الوقاية من عدوى المسالك البولية المرتبطة بالقسطرة تعتمد بصورة أساسية على الالتزام بإجراءات مكافحة العدوى، واستخدام التقنيات المعقمة عند إدخال القسطرة والعناية بها، وإزالة القسطرة عند انتفاء الحاجة إليها، إضافة إلى التدريب المستمر للممرضين على أحدث الإرشادات العلمية. كما أكدت النتائج أهمية تعزيز البرامج التعليمية والتدريبية لتحسين معارف وممارسات الممرضين، بما يسهم في رفع جودة الرعاية الصحية وتقليل معدلات الإصابة بعدوى المسالك البولية المرتبطة بالقسطرة داخل المستشفيات.
